A must read for anyone who has faced a serious illness.
Chris-Tia Donaldson (@tginceo) has written a great story about how she received an unexpected life-changing breast cancer diagnosis at age 36; and how her journey through treatment opened her eyes to the unfairness in the healthcare system when it comes to resources available for economically disadvantaged women of color. In This Is Only A Test Chris-Tia shares her experiences growing up in Detroit as the child of two very accomplished parents, attending law school and working as an attorney, and her decision to start her own company aimed at women with natural hair (Thank God It’s Natural). She shares the ups as well as the downs of her life, and how she persevered through it all. Highly recommended this book!

A must-read!
Chris-Tia's story in "This Is Only a Test" is relatable on many different levels, and that's what makes this book so great. No matter your gender, race, or whether you're a cancer survivor/never had cancer, you will be moved by the rawness and the heartfelt way in which her story is told. You will feel like you are right there with her through it all. A true inspiration, and also a sobering reminder that self-care in today's schedule-driven, overbusy world is more important than ever.

Chris-Tia Donaldson's Resilience is on Full Display in Her Memoir, This is Only a Test
Ladies, we must take the time to care for ourselves from the inside out. In her memoir, CEO of tgin (Thank God It's Natural) Chris-Tia Donaldson shares the true grit of building a haircare brand from the ground floor. While I have read about and witnessed the birth of beauty brands, what I loved about this story is the author's heartwarming transparency about her battle with breast cancer in the midst of her brand gaining traction in the industry. She was literally fighting for her life and ambitions at the same time. I had goosebumps while reading about her Target meeting in 2016. [From the book: On March 15, 2016, after receiving my first chemo treatment, I traveled to Minneapolis to meet with the Target buyer and discuss our year one financial performance. While I was undergoing treatment, our revenues doubled, and door count quadrupled. God is good!] If you are an ambitious woman who is living in the reality that pursuing your dreams does not come without challenges, This is Only a Test is the narrative that will give you the strength to push forward, pray and trust that God will work it out in your favor.
